Gang Rigs for shore hunting
« on: January 01, 2009, 08:18:52 AM »
Could anyone give me some ideas for gang riging decoys for hunting from shore.  I have some black duck decoys and want to get some buffleheads.  Should I tie off each decoy or conect all the decoys to the same line?  I hunt ponds and creeks which are too deep to wade into.  Thanks.

Late season i hunt almost exclusively for black ducks. i use about 12 to 15 feet of tangle free cord with a 4 oz tangle free weight.  i rig all my decoys seperatley and 4 oz holds them in the the stongest winds and tides
As for the buffleheads i have 6 GHG drakes and 4 carrylites (2hens/2drakes).  I love the GHG decoys i rigged them seperatley with 20 to 25 feet of tanglefree with 4 oz weights the carrylites are rigged 1 drake and one hen with 20 to 25 feet of braided nylon cord with a 6 oz mushroom weight i rig the decoys 3 feet apart I would recomend the GHG decoys if you can find some hens to go with them
