re: Coots ... believe me, having a half dozen coots in your spread - WORKS!  I find that dabblers draw to coots.  Also, put a couple of seagulls on the outer edge of your spread too.

I am going to get some coots for next season.  I am a true believer in showing the ducks something different to help.  Like the seagull suggestion as well.
